Success is a Deliberate Act

07:17 0
Success is a Deliberate Act

 Success is a Deliberate Act

Success doesn’t happen by accident. It’s not something that magically appears overnight or falls into your lap wh

en you least expect it. Rather, success is a result of deliberate effort, unwavering discipline, and a focused mindset. To truly achieve your dreams and reach the heights you aspire to, you must commit to making success a choice—one that you make every single day through your actions and decisions.

We live in a world where instant gratification often trumps long-term planning. The temptation to take shortcuts or look for quick fixes is everywhere. But here’s the truth: Success is not an event, it’s a process. And that process requires you to take action—intentional, purposeful, and consistent action toward your goals.

Deliberate Action: The Path to Success

Deliberate action is about making conscious choices that align with your dreams. It’s about staying focused on the bigger picture and taking each step with intent. To achieve success, you must first understand what you truly want and why it matters to you. Your goals must be crystal clear. Once you know where you're heading, every decision and every action should be a step toward that destination.

The key is consistency. It's easy to stay motivated when things are going well, but the true test of success lies in how you show up when things are tough. This is where discipline comes into play. Discipline is the foundation that keeps you going when your energy wanes, when the distractions are loud, or when failure seems imminent. It’s what will push you to wake up early, to put in the extra hours, to keep learning, and to maintain a high standard for yourself even when no one is watching.

The Power of Self-Discipline

Self-discipline is not about punishment or restricting yourself; it’s about having control over your choices and your actions. It’s the ability to resist the urge to procrastinate, to stay focused on the task at hand, and to do what you know is necessary even when you don’t feel like it.

Success demands self-discipline because it requires you to sacrifice in the short-term for the long-term gain. It requires you to do the hard things now, so you can enjoy the rewards later. Self-discipline is the muscle that strengthens with every act of willpower. The more you exercise it, the more it becomes second nature. And with it, your dreams start to materialize.

Success is built on small, deliberate actions. The difference between where you are now and where you want to be is often the simple, everyday choices you make. Do you spend your time wisely? Are you taking the steps today that will bring you closer to your goals tomorrow?

The Importance of Mindset

The journey to success is also deeply tied to mindset. You have to believe that you are capable of achieving greatness, and you must be willing to face obstacles with a resilient attitude. Setbacks are a natural part of the journey, but they don’t define your potential. What defines you is how you respond to those setbacks and how determined you are to keep moving forward.

Develop a mindset that embraces failure as a lesson, a temporary setback, rather than a permanent defeat. Every misstep is a chance to learn and grow. Stay disciplined in your thoughts and actions, and never let the temporary difficulties cause you to lose sight of your ultimate vision.

The Role of Patience

One of the most challenging aspects of success is patience. In a world that promotes instant results, it can be easy to grow impatient. But success requires time. It takes time to build skill, time to learn from mistakes, and time to achieve your dreams. While it’s important to act with purpose and urgency, it’s equally important to understand that success doesn’t always come quickly.

Keep your vision in mind, but allow the journey to unfold at its own pace. Trust the process, knowing that your deliberate actions are adding up, brick by brick, until your foundation is strong and unshakable.

Conclusion: You Are the Architect of Your Success

Success is not an accident. It is the product of deliberate action, unwavering discipline, and the mindset to keep moving forward regardless of the obstacles in your path. To achieve your dreams, you must commit to the work—both the easy and the difficult parts—and stay focused on your end goal.

Remember: Success is not something that happens to you; it’s something you create. And the power to do so lies within your own hands. With the right mindset, a deliberate approach to action, and an unbreakable self-discipline, you have everything you need to build the success you’ve always desired.

It’s time to make success a deliberate act. Start today, and see just how far you can go.

20 Reasons You Need Online Presence

08:35 0
20 Reasons You Need Online Presence

1. To Establish A Presence
Over 5.3 billion people worldwide have access to the World Wide Web (WWW) or internet. No matter what your business is, you can't ignore over 5.3 billion people. To be a part of that community and show that you are interested in serving them, you need to be on the WWW for them. You know your competitors will.

2. To Network
A lot of what passes for business is simply nothing more than making connections with other people. Every smart businessperson knows that it's not what you know; it's who you know. Passing out your business card is part of every good meeting, and every business person can tell more than one story about how a chance meeting turned into a big deal. Well, what if you could pass out your business card to thousands, maybe millions, of potential clients and partners, saying this is what I do and if you are ever in need of my services, this is how you can reach me? You can do so 24 hours a day, inexpensively and simply, on the WWW.

3. To Make Business Information Available
What is basic business information? Think of a Yellow Pages ad. What are your hours? What do you do? How can someone contact you? What methods of payment do you take? Where are you located at? Now think of a Yellow Pages ad where you have instant communication. What is today's special? What's today's interest rate? Next week's parking lot sale information? If you could keep your customers informed of every reason why they should do business with you, don't you think you could do more business? You can do so on the WWW.

4. To Serve Your Customers
Making business information available is one of the most important ways to serve your customers. But if you look at serving the customer, you'll find even more ways to use WWW technology. How about making forms available to pre-qualify for loans, or having your staff do a search for that classic jazz record your customer is looking for without tying up your staff on the phone to take down the information? Allow your customer to punch in sizes and check it against a database that tells him what color of jacket is available in your store? All this can be done, simply and quickly, on the WWW.

5. To Heighten Public Interest
You won't get Newsweek magazine to write up your local store opening, but you might get them to write up your Web Page address if it is something new and interesting. Even if Newsweek would write about your local store opening, you wouldn't benefit from someone in a distant city reading about it, unless of course, they were coming to your town sometime soon. With Web page information, anybody anywhere who can access the Web and hears about you is a potential visitor to your Web site and a potential customer for your information there.

6. To Release Time Sensitive Materials
What if your materials need to be released no earlier than midnight? The quarterly earnings statement, the grand prize winner, the press kit for the much anticipated film, the merger news? Well, you sent out the materials to the press with "The-do-not-release-before-such-and-such-time" statement and hope for the best. Now the information can be made available at midnight or any time you specify, with all related materials such as photographs, bios, etc. released at exactly the same time. Imagine the anticipation of "All materials will be made available on our Web site at 12:01 AM". The scoop goes to those that wait for the information to be posted, not the one who releases your information early.

7. To Sell Things
Many people think that this is the number 1 thing to do with the World Wide Web, but we made it number seven to make it clear that we think you should consider selling things on the Internet and the World Wide Web after you have done all the things above and maybe even after doing quite a few more things from this list. Why? Well, the answer is complex but the best way to put it is, do you consider the telephone the best place to sell things? Probably not. You probably consider the telephone a tool that allows you to communicate with your customer, which in turn helps you sell things. Well, that's how we think you should consider the WWW. The technology is different, of course, but before people decide to become customers, they want to know about you, what you do and what you can do for them. Which you can do easily and inexpensively on the WWW. Then you might be able to turn them into customers.

8. To make pictures, sound and film files available
What if your widget is great, but people would really love it if they could see it in action? The album is great but with no airplay, nobody knows that it sounds great? A picture is worth a thousand words, but you don't have the space for a thousand words? The WWW allows you to add sound, pictures and short movie files to your company's info if that will serve your potential customers. No brochure will do that.

9. To reach a highly desirable demographic market
The demographic of the WWW user is probably the highest mass-market demographic available. Usually college-educated or being college educated, making a high salary or soon to make a high salary, it's no wonder that Wired magazine, the magazine of choice to the Internet community, has no problem getting Lexus and other high-end marketers advertising. Even with the addition of the commercial on-line community, the demographic will remain high for many years to come.

10. To Answer Frequently Asked questions
Whoever answers the phones in your organization can tell you, their time is usually spent answering the same questions over and over again. These are the questions customers and potential customers want to know the answer to before they deal with you. Post them on a WWW page and you will have removed another barrier to doing business with you and freed up some time for that harried phone operator.

11. To Stay In Contact With Salespeople
Your employees on the road may need up-to-the-minute information that will help them make the sale or pull together the deal. If you know what that information is, you can keep it posted in complete privacy on the WWW. A quick local phone call can keep your staff supplied with the most detailed information, without long distance phone bills and tying up the staff at the home office.

12. To Open International Markets
You may not be able to make sense of the mail, phone and regulation systems in all your potential international markets, but with a Web page, you can open up a dialogue with international markets as easily as with the company across the street. As a matter-of-fact, before you go onto the Web, you should decide how you want to handle the international business that will come your way, because your postings are certain to bring international opportunities your way, whether it is part of your plan or not. Another added benefit; if your company has offices overseas, they can access the home offices information for the price of a local phone call.

13. To Create a 24 Hour Service
If you've ever remembered too late or too early to call the opposite coast, you know the hassle. We're not all on the same schedule. Business is worldwide but your office hours aren't. Trying to reach Asia or Europe is even more frustrating. But Web pages serve the client, customer and partner 24 hours a day, seven days a week. No overtime either. It can customize information to match needs and collect important information that will put you ahead of the competition, even before they get into the office.

14. To Make Changing Information Available Quickly
Sometimes, information changes before it gets off the press. Now you have a pile of expensive, worthless paper. Electronic publishing changes with your needs. No paper, no ink, no printers bill. You can even attach your web page to a database which customizes the page's output to a database you can change as many times in a day as you need. No printed piece can match that flexibility.

15. To Allow Feedback From Customers
You pass out the brochure, the catalog, the booklet. But it doesn't work. No sales, no calls, no leads. What went wrong? Wrong color, wrong price, wrong market? Keep testing, the marketing books say, and you'll eventually find out what went wrong. That's great for the big boys with deep pockets, but who is paying the bills? You are and you don't have the time nor the money to wait for the answer. With a Web page, you can ask for feedback and get it instantaneously with no extra cost. An instant e-mail response can be built into Web pages and can get the answer while its fresh in your customers mind, without the cost and lack of response of business reply mail.

16. To Test Market New Services and Products
Tied into the reason above, we all know the cost of rolling out a new product. Advertising, advertising, advertising, PR and advertising. Expensive, expensive, expensive. Once you have been on the Web and know what to expect from those who are seeing your page, they are the least expensive market for you to reach. They will also let you know what they think of your product faster, easier and much less expensively than any other market you may reach. For the cost of a page or two of Web programming, you can have a crystal ball into where to position your product or service in the marketplace. Amazing.

17. To Reach The Media
Every kind of business needs the exposure that the media can bring, as we touched on in reason #5 "To Heighten Public Interest", but what if your business is reaching the media, as a newswire, a publicist or a public policy group. The media is the most wired profession today, since their main product is information and they can get it more quickly, cheaply and easily on-line. On-line press kits are becoming more and more common, since they work with the digital environment of more and more pressrooms. Digital images can be put in place without the stripping and shooting of the old pressrooms and digital text can be edited and outputted on tight deadlines. All the these can be made available on a Web page.

18. To Reach The Education and Youth Market
If your market is education, consider that most universities already offer Internet access to their students and most K-12's will be on the Internet within the next few years. Books, athletic shoes, study courses, youth fashion and anything else that would want to reach these overlapping markets needs to be on the Web. Even with the coming of the commercial on-line services and their somewhat older populations there will be nothing but growth in the percentage of the under 25 market that will be on-line.

19. To Reach The Specialized Market
Sell fish tanks, art reproductions, flying lessons? You may think that the Internet is not a good place to be. Well, think again. The Internet isn't just computer science students anymore. With the 70 million and growing users of the WWW, even the most narrowly defined interest group will be represented in large numbers. Since the Web has several very good search programs, your interest group will be able to find you, or your competitors.

20. To Serve Your Local Market
We've talked about the power to serve the world with a Web page. How about your neighborhood? If you are located in San Francisco Bay Area, the Raleigh NC area, Boston or New York, there is probably enough local customers with Web access to make it worth your while to consider Web marketing. A local Palo Alto, CA restaurant even takes lunch orders through the Internet! But no matter where you are, if the big client has Web access, you should be there too.

Life Quotients: Psychology

07:32 0
Life Quotients: Psychology

IQ  ,  EQ  ,  SQ  ,  AQ

According to psychologists, there are four types of Life Quotients:

1) Intelligence Quotient (IQ)

2) Emotional  Quotient (EQ)

3) Social Quotient (SQ)

4) Adversity Quotient (AQ)

1. Intelligence Quotient (IQ): this is the measure of your comprehension ability", solve maths; memorize things and recall subject matters.

2. Emotional Quotient (EQ): this is the measure of your ability to maintain peace with others; keep to time; be responsible; be honest; respect boundaries; be humble, genuine and considerate.

3. Social Quotient (SQ):

This is the measure of your ability  to build a network of friends and maintain it over a long period of time.

People that have higher EQ and SQ tend to go further in life than those with high IQ but low EQ and SQ. Most schools capitalize in improving IQ level while EQ and SQ are played down.

A man of high IQ can end up being employed by a man of high EQ and SQ even though he has an average IQ.

Your EQ represents your character; your SQ represents your charisma. Give in to habits that will improve these three Qs but more especially your EQ and SQ.

EQ and SQ makes one manage situations better than IQ does.

Pls don't teach children to only have high IQ , but to also have higher EQ and SQ.

Now there is a 4th one:

A new paradigm...

4. The Adversity Quotient (AQ):

The measure of your ability to  go through a rough patch in life and come out without losing your mind.

AQ determines who will give up in the face of adversities and possibly even abandon their families.

To parents:

Expose children to other areas of life other than academics. They should enjoy doing manual work (never use work as a form of punishment), sport and art .

Develop their EQ, SQ and AQ. They should become multifaceted human beings able to do things independently of their parents.

Finally, do not prepare the road for the children. Prepare the children for the road.

Die Empty: Exhaust Your Potentials

Die Empty: Exhaust Your Potentials

DIE EMPTY

The most beautiful book to read to understand this article perfectly is Die Empty by Todd Henry.

The author was inspired and got this idea of writing this book while attending a business meeting.

When the Director asked the audience: Where is the richest land in the world?

One of the audience answered: The Oil-rich Gulf states.

Another added: The Diamond mines in Africa"

Then the Director said: "No IT IS THE CEMETERY.

Yes, Cemetery is the richest land in the world, because millions of people have departed/died and they carried away many valuable ideas that did not come to light nor benefit others. It is all in the cemetery where they are buried."

Inspired by this answer, Todd Henry wrote his book, "Die empty" where he did his best to motivate people to pour out their ideas and potential energies in their communities and turn them into something useful before it is too late.

The most beautiful of what he said in his book is: "Do not go to your grave and carry inside you the best that you have.

Always choose to die empty.

The True meaning of this  expression, is to die empty of all the goodness that is within you. Deliver it to the world, before you leave.

If you have an idea perform it.

If you have knowledge give it out.

If you have a goal achieve it.

If you have resources, assist the less opportuned.

Love, share and distribute, do not keep it inside.

Let’s begin to give. Remove and spread every atom of goodness inside you.

Africa is like this today because many leaders want to take power to the grave. Instead of good leaders to groom successors that will easily take over the reins from them, they choose to sit-tight and die on the throne of power.

Material acquisitions will not follow us to our graves so invest in those you know have the potential to contribute to the well-being of the society.

Help that indigent child with scholarships. Set up that Soup kitchen to take some poor people off the streets instead of keeping sacks of food in your store as food for rodents.

We are as rich as those whom we have impacted. If you waltzed through this life and was known for only the great parties you threw, the choice cars you drove or the palatial mansions you built without any benefit to humanity, you will take your poverty of the mind to the grave where no one will remember to put a flower in your memory.

Start the race now. Let us Die Empty.

Exhaust your Potentials..

Have a blessed  day my Friends.

The Missing Key to Your Success

00:00 0
The Missing Key to Your Success

Julius Caesar said, “It is easier to find men who will volunteer to die, than to find those who are willing to endure pain with patience.” To succeed you must have a vast amount of enduring patience.

What is patience?

According to Barbara Johnson, it’s the ability to idle your motor when you feel like stripping your gears. Guy Kawasaki said it’s the art of concealing your impatience, while Titus Plautus concludes that it’s the best remedy for every trouble.'

I submit to you that patience is the missing link to your success…

So when things go wrong remember that the grass will grow again, yes it will take time, but in the words of Jean Jacques Rousseau, “Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet,” so don’t overreact, don’t over steer, be patient, let things settle, less you find your delay considerably longer than it would otherwise be.

The scripture teaches us that in your patience you possess your soul, which is perhaps why Francis Bacon noted that whoever is out of patience is out of possession of their soul. Elbert Hubbard said, “How many a man has thrown up his hands at a time when a little more effort, a little more patience would have achieved success.” It’s true.

You were almost there, you had just about figured it out, and then your impatience got the better of you, which is perhaps why Solomon wrote, he that controls his anger is greater than the mighty.

Christina Milian said, “My advice to someone who would follow in my footsteps is to have patience. I’ve been doing this for twelve years.” Saint Francis de Sales wisely noted, “Have patience with all things. But, first with yourself.” And Saadi said, “Have patience. All things are difficult before they become easy.” You’ve been trying to succeed without patience! You failed to apprehend three of the most critical steps to success.

They are:

First to have patience, second to be patient, and third to endure patiently. No one succeeds without patience. Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience."

Have you been over reacting?

Have you been impatient?

It didn’t take you a week to get into your situation; it won’t take you a week to get out of it.

Anxiety causes the waters of life to rage; dooming your success, but patience stills the waters and allows you to navigate safely to your intended destination.

Don’t be like Tom Holt, Tom said, “Everything is out there if you know how to find it, and you have the patience. I don’t and have it, but that’s my problem.”

Don’t just know that you need patience..... have patience. I like to say, there’s nothing you can’t achieve if you have the three “P’s”: Purpose, Passion, and Patience

You have to have patience.

George Savile wisely observed that, “A man who is a master of patience is a master of everything else.”

Thomas Kempis said, “All men commend patience, although few are willing to practice it.”

Are you practicing patience?

Benjamin Franklin said, “He that can have patience can have what he will.”

Arnold Glasow noted “The key to everything is patience. You get the chicken by hatching the egg, not by smashing it.”

Francis Quarles said, “Abused patience turns to fury.” But I think he had it wrong. True patience isn’t putting up with, true patience is faith and works in action.

which is maybe why Michelangelo said that “Genius is eternal patience.”

I believe that Edmund Burke said it best, he simply said, “Our patience will achieve more than our force.”

Be patient, be consistent, and in time you will have your desires. In the profound words of William Penn, “Patience and diligence, like faith, will remove mountains.

Bitter Truth: The Reality (Motivational)

Bitter Truth: The Reality (Motivational)

With hope you can cope but hope is not a strategy, your future is too precious and Important to be left to chances, your greatest responsibility is to take full charge of your future by creating it NOW or NEVER.

Nobody is coming to save you, you're the architect of your destiny.

The future is not something we enter into, the future is what we create, there is no charm, oil, water,  prophet, or pastor that will make you step into your future or wake up to be a millionaire, you have to create it daily by the choices and actions you take..
 kabayaka 💪💪💪

Look My friend, your future is not a miracle, or a mystery or some magical moments that will never happen. It is a harvest of the decisions, risk you take or not take, nothing invested nothing earned. It is simple, as you lay your bed you lie on it, if you don't sow anything you will reap nothing.

Stop playing the victim game, stop blaming the friends that didn't help you, your parents, or Government (our dear poohari) lol. s
Start evaluating yourself to see if you're really making the right choices, if not you will wait till you're 65, and pirin rin pinrin rin  pinrin rin rin rin rin ( those  undertaker men that dance  in suit lol) a o gbe baba rele lol. Time up...
And in your funeral they will write a life well spent!! What life did you spend well?
...Hahahaha....... Africans wake up,!!!

If you don't plan for the future you will regret it.
My friend, if you know what it takes to be old you will plan for your life now that you're young.
The day my life changed is the day I got this revelation that nobody owe me anything and nobody is coming to save me, I am 100% responsible for the outcome of my life, success or failure is nobody but me, that day I had a 360 ° paradigm shift in the way I see the world...

Stop Playing The Victim Game.
Your choices and decisions make or ma your Life.

Nobody own you the good life you want. Not your parents, not the government, not anybody.. You own yourself that. You own Yourself the Good Life.

The time to take charge of your Life is Now.
Do it afraid...
Do it with fear...
Do it with tears...
Do it with your hands shaking...
Do it with your voice shaking..
Do it for yourself....
Do it for your family....
Do it now or never..

If your business is struggling to survive don't think many people will believe in its survival.

This period, You are your own cheerleader. You are the only one who believes in your dream when no one believes in it.

See, people will show you those that have started before you but, didn't succeed. They won't show you those that have succeeded.
Your trying moments as a business owner is to learn. Don't close that business for a little setback.

Don't sell your business and regret it later. Let your dreams of starting that business fuel your courage to stay on your feet.

What you see as challenges are the experiences needed to become a better business owner. The more the experiences you have got, the lesser the mistakes you will make.

Everyone is being affected by this global pandemic. Plans are shattered. The year's goals are scattered by this pandemic.

All you need to do, is to restrategise. Have a plan B, if plan B doesn't work, there are still other letters from the English alphabet.
Challenges will make you better. They are temporary. Don't be defeated by that.

No matter what you are passing through right now, have it in mind that it is temporary and you will overcome it.
Don't close that beautiful business because it is not working now. Things will get back to normal.

My advice is this, go to your office or a quiet place, tell yourself the truth. Check your leadership style, your team, your business's weaknesses, strengths and competitive advantage.

Know what's exciting people about your business. Know why people are no longer patronizing your business.

Don't sit and see things that are not working for you. No, sit and see positive things. Stop consuming negative thoughts.
Stop listening to negative advice from people.
Surround yourself with positive people. Surround yourself with likeminded people. Do your homework. Score yourself and be a better version of yourself and Business.

But, don't close that business  because of a little setback. Your vision is bigger than this COVID 19.

Stay stronger, stay safe but, don't close that business.

See you at the top but, don't close your business.

Question The Status quo

Question The Status quo

An army  barrack had  four  soldiers guarding  a  concrete  slab  in front  of  the barracks  at  all times.

Different commanders came and went but  the tradition remained; the soldiers changed shifts guarding the slab.

After 80 years, a new commander was assigned to the barracks. One of the things he did was to ask why things were done the way they were.

When he asked why soldiers were guarding  the  slab, he  was  told,  We've always done it this  way. It's our tradition. Our former commanders instructed us to do that.

The  commander was bent on finding out the reason for this practice. He went to the  Archives to look for answers and came across  a document that had the explanation.

The document was very old.  It had instructions  written by one of the retired commanders who had even passed away.

The new commander learnt that over 80 years ago, the barracks wanted to build a platform  where events could be performed. When the  concrete slab was laid, wild animals walked  over it at night before the slab could dry.

The soldiers would fix it the next morning but  when evening came the same thing would happen. So the commander ordered that four soldiers should guard the concrete slab for  three weeks to allow it to dry.

The following week the commander was transferred to handle another assignment elsewhere, and a new commander was brought  in.

The new commander found the routine and continued to enforce it without asking any question.

And since then, every other commander that came did the same.

Thus, eighty years later; soldiers continued  guarding the concrete slab. An assignment that  was ordinarily designed to last just three  weeks. . . 80yrs  of ignorance with  hard  labour  has passed.

Are  you  carrying on obsolete beliefs, attitudes traditions/culture that  were relevant to certain  people or a certain time?

What is your opinion about yourself, people of a  different  race, politics, certain business opportunities, new products etc ?

You might just be guarding a concrete slab!

Without deviation from the norm, progress is not possible (Ignorance can make you work hard without progress).

Find out why you do what you do.
Change the way you work and be creative.

Do new things, try newer ways and always be open to Change.

Goal Setting for the New Year

06:00 0
Goal Setting for the New Year

For many people, a new year is a fresh start, a do-over of sorts, that motivates you to try something new or to recommit to those tasks you put on hold because you
made so many excuse or you were too busy tending to more important things. When we talk about the new year, one word often comes to mind: resolutions.

You may ask your friends or co-workers about their New Year’s resolutions , finding that yours are similar to theirs: lose weight, get out more, save money. But, what exactly are resolutions? To make a resolution is to
resolve to do something. The dictionary says that to resolve is “to make a definite and serious decision to do something.” That sounds promising. But, what happens after you’ve made that decision? How do you carry it out?

Instead of making resolutions, setting measurable goals is more likely to lead to success in seeing your hopes and dreams come to fruition. Want to increase the chances of seeing your dreams become reality? Here are five goal-setting tips that will get you started on your journey towards reaching your goals.

Set S.M.A.R.T. Goals
When it comes to goal setting, S.M.A.R.T. is a familiar acronym for specific , measurable ,
attainable , relevant , and time-sensitive . Too often, people set goals that are vague and unrealistic. Not only does this lead to frustration, but it also decreases the likelihood of actually achieving the goal. The S.M.A.R.T. method can be applied to a variety of goals, whether professional or personal, giving you the tools you need to succeed in your goal setting endeavors.

Write Your Goal down
The daily minutiae of life is enough to rattle even the most skilled multi-tasker. With family dinners, kids’ sporting events, and household chores, life is truly a juggling act. Still, we manage to fall into the routine of getting those things done without a need to write them down. When it comes to goals, however, we are not very likely to simply fall into a routine. Achieving goals involves deviating from the daily monotony, stepping outside of your comfort zone, and challenging yourself. Writing down your goals allows you to free up some of that mental clutter so that you can visualize those things that you want to achieve. Also, tracking your progress by checking things off will give you a sense of accomplishment, motivating you to keep going. So, pull out that journal that has been collecting dust and write down those goals!

Avoid comparisons
When you are working towards improving your life, it is common to compare yourself to other people. Your perception is that they are superior to you, or more privileged in some way. The social media phenomenon doesn’t help; your ‘news feed’ overflows with announcements of your friends’ new love interests, weight loss, and new jobs, quickly turning you into a green-eyed monster. How does this serve you, exactly? It doesn’t. When you compare yourself to others , you rob yourself of time you could be spending on your own self-improvement. It is also important to keep in mind that everyone’s journey is different; although we have similar destinations, our paths are often quite different. Follow your own path.

Embrace failure
Rich Dad Poor Dad author Robert Kiyosaki says that “successful people don’t fear failure but understand that it is necessary to learn and grow from.” Setting goals involves learning what you need to do in order to achieve personal growth. Embracing failure by seeing it as a necessary part of achieving your goals will only make you stronger and more resilient as you continue on your road to towards achieving your goals.

Enjoy the process
Big success is made up of small victories. If your weight loss goal is 20 lbs, chances are that you will not lose it all at once. Still, you can celebrate your pants fitting a little looser every week. Having goals is important; however, we don’t stop living while we pursue them. Life happens while you are in the midst of seeing your dreams realized. Don’t allow your focus on the outcome to keep you from enjoying the process.

Keep Your Future in Mind
Think of what you would have in your ideal life, and where you’d like to be in two, five, or even 10 years, and see if your goals bring you closer to that picture. If so, they’re good goals to stick with. If you can keep in your mind the image of where you would ultimately like your goals to take you, it’s easier to stick with them.

Think in Terms of Specific Behaviors and Broad Changes
Resolving to develop a meditation practice gives more room for growth and change than resolving to do yoga every morning. While you’ll definitely want to put your broad goals into specific behaviors, being open to more gives you room to experiment, and allows you to change course if you find that your chosen specific behavior isn’t working for you.

Think of What You're Adding, Not What You're Taking Away
Instead of making the goal to eat less unhealthy food, focus on trying to eat more healthy food. You may subconsciously feel more deprived if you think of taking something away rather than adding something good, and if you replace unhealthy food in your diet with healthy food, the same goal is accomplished.

Create Habits
Once you have your goals set, keep them in the forefront of your mind. Keep them listed in your day-planner, have them as part of your screen saver, or post-it them in prominent places around your house for a while. Then, break them down into smaller goals, and think of what steps you need to take to reach these goals. Then, and this is key, create habits that can lead you to your goals

Build a Healthy Habit
Think of what specific habits you can maintain that will make bigger changes in your life if you maintain them, and embed them into your schedule in the easiest ways you can think to maintain them. For example, if you'd like to be more fit, commit to exercising for a reasonable amount of time.
You can increase it as the habit becomes more ingrained, but shoot for something that will help you feel accomplished but not exhausted, and something you can stick to. Assign a time each day when you'll practice this habit. It works best if this time is connected to an existing habit, like right before you shower, or on your way home from work.

Reward Yourself
Finally, reward yourself with something small for continuing to stick with it, until you make enough progress toward your goals that the progress becomes its own reward. Remember that change doesn’t come overnight, but as you work toward developing what is important to you, the change will come, and it will be lasting. Remember this, and enjoy building the life you were meant to live.

Wishing you a Happy and Success filled New Year!

IMPACTS OF PARENTS IN THEIR CHILDREN'S LIFE

07:34 0
IMPACTS OF PARENTS IN THEIR CHILDREN'S LIFE

I just want to share this experience from my mother..
Today makes it 10 year ago when my mother called me and told me something that change my life forever.
07/07/2007. I was in secondary school just concluded my SSS 1 where I came first in Science (Lord's College). Our Physics Teacher was also our class teacher Mr Yusuf Opeloyeru gave us prizes for first (N750), second (N500) and third (N250). It's was a fulfilment after a strong battle with Oyeniran Daniel and I just got my first mobile phone a month before.
My mum said "I am proud of you my son, you will go many places and do many great things but note " Boys without vision run after girls but go after your dreams and the best of them all will be attracted to you". Don't run after women, run after your goals my son and become a great person in life. I couldn't go beyond primary school but I know you will become a doctor. I believe in you don't run after female because you cannot serve two masters. Boys that run after girls in early part of their lives end up having regrets. I don't want you to have any regrets. When you become someone, the best woman will be attracted to you. In fact you come across so many on your way up. Keep them as friends and never look down on anyone. I want you to know that your father and I love you so much. Go do exploits and Go succeed! ".
Wow.....
I was nonchalant and was just there nodding my head. Being a very stubborn boy, I decided I will do whatever I want and won't study Medicine when I am ready for the university. I was looking at becoming an Engineer so I worked hard in my Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry but WAEC dealt with me in Further Mathematics because of their Corruption and this led to me thinking of those statements from my Mother again. I was still stubborn so and because I only wanted to go to only University of Lagos as my only mentor was a first-class graduate of Chemical Engineering (Eze Collins) from same university and the people in my secondary were always complaining that University of Lagos is difficult to get admission into Medicine, I decided to choose Biochemistry in Unilag and Medicine and Surgery in Lagos State University (LASU) because I want my Mum dream to become a reality. I noticed that during those periods, my mum advises kept coming to my heart and my orientation changed. I went on to study Biochemistry in Lagos and also went for a second degree in Pharmacology and now getting ready for my Doctorate  degree I still live and feed on those words.
Parents have a great role to play in their children's life as they are the first line of contact to the world. I can boostly say today that 90% of what my Mum said in those statements are now REALITIES.
Alot of people fail in life because their foundation and background was not properly laid for success.
Parents encourage your wards and wards listen to your parents and your life will be beautiful.
I live a beautiful and fulfilled life.
You too can be the same.

To be continued.........

Thank You

Amazing Ways to Close an Interview

10:26 0
Amazing Ways to Close an Interview

In my experiences in various organizations, many candidates will offer a great interview and then fail to close it properly. This is like baking a terrific cake and forgetting to put on the icing. The closing of your interview is the most memorable part not only because it comes at the end of your time together, but because you are able to interject your own personality, comments and questions into the conversation with the interviewer.

Ask Questions
You should be well prepared for the interview with questions of your own to show that you're considering their company as much as they are considering you. You should ask questions that show you've paid attention to information in the interview and done research on your own before coming into speak to the interviewer. If the interviewer doesn't ask for your questions, be sure to ask her, "Do you mind if I ask you a few questions before we finish?"

Reinforce Your Attributes

When the interviewer makes a statement similar to, "If you have nothing else, that will be all," offer a respectful closing comment reiterating your strengths and how they tie into the critical skills the company is seeking. Include four or five reasons why you should have the job and show your knowledge of the company in the process.

"This is an exciting position and I know that my experience with teamwork will help me mesh well with the existing sales team, my industry knowledge will be useful in developing new leads and my time spend building industry contracts will help to solidify my client list almost immediately. The work I've done with your computer system will give me ad advantage in that area as well."

Alleviate Concerns
If you suspect the interviewers have any concerns about you as the right applicant, your next statements should alleviate those concerns. It is wise to give the interviewer a chance to state concerns so that you can address them, "I believe I'm the right candidate for this position. Do you see any issues that might make you think otherwise?"

Express Enthusiasm

Your enthusiasm for the position and company should be shining through during the interview process, but be sure to include a few direct positive remarks about the company and position as well.

Determine the Next Step

Be sure you ask for the next step in the hiring process. This will show you are an organized and professional candidate. If possible, establish a time frame for the hiring decision as this will give you critical information about how and when to follow up.

Thank the Interviewer

Finally, thank your interviewer graciously and stand to shake her hand. Keep confident eye contact during the handshake and walk out of the room knowing you've done well.

13 Avoidable Job Interview Mistakes

08:00 0
13 Avoidable Job Interview Mistakes
Now get this........The wrong moves can cost you the job!

You've worked hard to get to the interview stage.
You passed the cover letter and resume screening process...maybe even a few telephone interviews.
Now its time for the face to face interview with the employer itself. Any number of items can go wrong but you have to be in control and must have confidence. Go into an interview with the feeling that you are going to impress them so much that they will have to make you an offer.
The interview is the most stressful part of the job hunt for many people because now they can't hide behind the cover letter and resume. The real face to face human connection between possible employer and job candidate takes place. But for starters if you simply follow these 13 tips below, you are on your way to interviews with results.
A big part of a successful interview is avoiding simple mistakes. Mistakes are deadly to the job seeker and easy to avoid if you are prepared.
These are the most common interview mistakes - and their antidotes.
1.     Arriving late
Get directions from the interviewer - or a map. Wear a watch and leave home early. If the worst happens and you can't make it on time, call the interviewer and arrange to reschedule.
2.     Wrong Dressing
You make your greatest impact on the interviewer in the first 17 seconds - an impression you want to make powerfully positive. Dress right in a conservative suit, subdued colours, little jewellery (but real gold, or silver, or pearls), low heels (polished) and everything clean and neat. Hygiene includes combed hair, brushed teeth, deodorant and low-key scent. Check everything the night before, again before walking out the door and once again in the restroom just before the interview.
3.     Play zombie
OK, it’s normal you're nervous. But you can still smile, right? And make eye contact, yes? Sit up, focus on the interviewer, and start responding. Enthusiasm is what the interviewer wants to see.
4.     No smoking, no gum, no drinking
This might all be comfort stuff for you, but none of it helps you here. Employers are more likely to hire non-smokers. At a lunch or dinner interview, others may order drinks. You best not.
5.     Research failure
The interview is not the time for research. Find out the company's products and services, annual sales, structure and other key information from the Internet, the public library, professional magazines or from former employees. Show that you are interested in working for the prospective employer by demonstrating knowledge about the company.
6.     Can't articulate your own strengths and weaknesses
Only you can recognize your most valuable strengths and most hurtful weaknesses. Be able to specify your major strengths. Your weaknesses, if such must come up, should only be turned around to positives.
7.     Winging the interview
Practice! Get a friend, a list of interview questions and a tape recorder and conduct an interview rehearsal. Include a presentation or demonstration if that will be part of the real interview. Start with introducing yourself and go all through an interview to saying good-bye. Write out any answers you have difficulty with, and practice until your delivery is smooth (but not slick).
8.     Talk, Talk, Talk
Rambling, interrupting the interviewer and answering to a simple question with a fifteen-minute reply - all of these can be avoided if you've thought through and practiced what you want to communicate. Good answers are to the point and usually shorter.
9.     Failure to connect yourself to the job offered
The job description details the company's needs - you connect your experiences, your talents and your strengths to the description. It answers the essential reasons for the interview - "How my education/experience/talents/strengths fit your needs and why I can do this job for you."
10. Not asking questions - and asking too many
Use your research to develop a set of questions that will tell you whether this is the job and the company for you. This will help you limit and focus your questions. But don't overpower the interviewer with questions about details that really won't count in the long run.
11. Bad-mouth anyone
Not just your present employer, or former employer, or the competition. You don't want to look like a complainer.
12. Asking about compensation and /or benefits too soon
Wait for the interviewer to bring up these issues - after the discussion of your qualifications and the company's needs and wants.
13. Failure to ask for the job
When the interviewer indicates the interview is over, convey your interest in the job and ask what the next step is.
Wishing you all the best in your interviews

Wisdom Is Power

Wisdom Is Power

What you HEAR or KNOW is not what COUNT; but what you EXECUTE is what matters

Leadership is practising what you KNOW.

Leadership is not admiring knowledge or gathering information alone.

Leadership is the implementation of relevant information available to you.

Until you TAKE ACTIONS, you will never get RESULTS.

ACTIONS produce attraction of people, skills and resources needed to bring about your dreams and goals.

Intention without appropriate action leads to delusion.

Our destiny is shaped when we take massive appropriate actions.

Those who do not take relevant actions end up with many distractions.

Action is both the cause and effect of motivation.

You can never become successful at anything without taking actions.

Great leaders are WORD-Practitioners.

Don't just SAY something; DO SOMETHING.

Leadership: Leaders Are Solution Providers

07:00 0
Leadership: Leaders Are Solution Providers

Great leaders know that there are great benefits in big problems.

Problems have advantages. Sound strange?

The Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines PROBLEM as "a question raised for enquiry, consideration and solution"

Problems are questions that provokes answers.

They are enquiries that facilitate deliveries.

They are considerations that promotes solutions.

Problems are not really 'problems'. They are solutions in disguise.

See problems as challenges for great changes.

Challenges are platforms for positive changes and the meal of Champions.

I discovered also that one of the Latin root meaning of PROBLEM is "to throw forward"

Problems are not really setbacks; they are designed to throw us forward into destiny.

Problems, when viewed correctly, serves as a launching pad into leadership and greatness.

Every great enterprise started by solving a problem(s).

Money is not the first thing you need to start a business; but an identified problem to solve.

Leadership is basically solving problems and meeting needs around.

Problems Provoke Potentials.

Robert Schuller said, "Problems are not stop-signs; but guidelines"

The bigger the problem you solve, the greater your provision.

Problems come with expiring date. They do not last more than a moment.

They are working for you, serving God's purpose for your life.

How do you see your problems, challenges or obstacles now?

Enjoy Your Week!!!

All the best to me this week...........
